DTKJ Proposes Transjakarta Fare Adjustment to Pramono

Jakarta City Transportation Council Chairman, Haris Muhammadun delivered his inputs to Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung related to Transjakarta fare adjustment.

It was stated during a meeting with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung in an audience at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (4/28).

He added that Transjakarta fares have not been adjusted too long. Therefore, the government needs to adjust the rates. The community ability and willingness to pay higher fares are already exist.
"The fare remain stable from 2003-2004. The ability to pay and willingness to pay are already exist," he added.
Haris continued DTKJ will cooperate with Jakarta Transportation Agency team in reviewing this matter.
Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo explained Transjakarta fare Rp 3,500 is already run since 2005 or 20 years. The adjustment has been planned before but it needs further review.
"Hopefully this can be discussed further to get an agreement," he explained.
Syafrin added various variables will be added to further study the proposal. One of the variables is the discrepancy between Transjakarta fares and the development of the Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP).
"Our detail study will be reported to the governor," he stated.
